Music in the Mountains Arts Academy
ANNOUNCING our Music in the Mountains Arts Academy 2025!!!
This year, we are taking our Arts Academy βon the road,β traveling to our education sites in Cambodia, China, and Myanmar for in-person music and art classes for our students! Art teacher Anna Lassonde from Jollybird Studio in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, will join Mrs. Picker as they teach in-person art and music classes for our students in Cambodia and China. In addition, Mrs. Picker will be launching two handbell choirs:
RongLe Rehabilitation Center in HuBei, CHINA
The Reformed Bible College in Pyin Oo Lwin, MYANMAR
RongLe Rehabilitation Center is a daycare center that specializes in the care of special needs students and provides a supportive environment where children with diverse needs can learn and develop. Mrs. Picker visited their center in March 2025 and discovered their LOVE for music and their sincere desire to develop their music education program. Help us raise $7,000 to launch a TEACHER TONECHIME CHOIR at their center this Fall.
In 2022, we made our first trip to Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar, and visited The Reformed Bible College. Since then, we have been waiting for an opportunity to return and support their music department. Help us raise $7,000 and provide everything they need to launch their first handbell choir!

Students and teachers from a foster home in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, traveled by bus (a 14-hour journey) to experience their first Arts Academy! Many of them had never travelled outside Cambodia, and with instruments in hand, they traveled by bus overland to Thailand. What an amazing time they had participating in in-person music study and virtual art classes!
